I plan to eventually cover their 1993 PC-98 polygonal SRPG Desert Dragoon (デザートドラグーン). Its stylish aesthetic & depth of play ought to speak for itself!

Until then, I'm very invested in the original Melty Lancer despite its rough edges. The game loop is simply that good.

I rinse and repeat this untill my eyes bleed, keeping in mind the center is usaully the brightest (and therefore has the largest highlights) while the edges tend to have darker ones.

I used this shape at the tops of the bangs a lot. I draw a rounded lump in the center and then shade the edges of the bang

TC was very fun. His options were Bow/Spear/Staff & I chose bow. The bow is very block to mimic his 8-bit shirt w/the pixel affect on the edges. The Arrowhead looks a bit like a ghost & the wrap around the head mimics his sweater. The feather looks like his hair.

I’ve also added three Sonic Channel style versions. I know I messed up the edges on the last one though. Lol ^^’ This was the first time I tried these styles. I’m really happy with the first one (the blue/purple one) I’ve always loved that style and wanted to try it out. 😊
