Every time I share Turtlecat irl, the first response I get from people is, “Oh that looks like Squirtle or Bulbasaur.” No she doesn’t, and I literally do not see it. You can obviously tell them apart, and in silhouettes too.

That's what I mean, its probs especially true for the gen 1 starters, they feel extremely connected in terms of design as a group

The chunky limb shapes, squirtle and charmander even have very similar eye styling etc
