I wanted to do something for some of my OC's, so heres a bit of insight on what inspired a few of their designs.
1. The sister of the protagonist of my main series (Jazz) was designed after Roll from megaman. Specifically her MM8 design. Over the years I tweaked it a bit.

Blah blah blah, I gave her a small set of tweaks and redesigning without changing her overall being. :L
