I know a lot of the "PC-9800" images you see online are just homages to the style, not true originals, but that doesn't matter - the point is how that style has endured.
There's this whole era of 90s Japanese pc-gaming that isn't so well-known in the west.

One of the best things about the VN acclaim post was being able to talk about Swan Song, Musicus, and Kira Kira to others who have actually played them.
I usually don’t get to do this since these games lack as big of an audience when compared to other VN’s in the west.
