You might use another blending mode for the gradient, like "color" or "lighten". This example uses the "lighten" mode.
But these two colors are the ones that achive the closest look.

In the world of GODS AND GEARS and HAMMERELLA, characters travel time and space, but to do so they must pass through THE BLENDING.

Satisfied with this idea, I work to finalize the background and refine the outfit and anatomy. I build up the piece by alternating between hard marks and soft blending.
