I just finished Jellystone Season 1. Unlike other cartoon shows, this one makes use of an ensemble cast to write their stories instead of having one main character, which I find very creative. I recommend giving it a watch on HBO Max if you like Hanna Barbera and Chowder.
@elemtree720 @luulubuu I wish they went the Dan VS route where the pilot is the only thing in that style so corporate will green light it, and once it is they do something more creative.
I was thinking of making both characters who do have ears and tails like the ones below but I am also up for other characters (like zhongli, diluc, ayaka, shogun, etc) so I can make original designs for each! I think it would be a lot of fun and very creative.
So I was very into butterflies for a while because my favourite band had an evil vampire butterfly as a main theme (I promise it was not as ridiculously cheesy as it sounds)

Probably a pretty controversial take, but I think a lot of characters designs in TTYD go too overboard on being creative.
Bobbery is my example. Very appealing, memorable design, but he's so unique that I can barely tell he's a Bob-Omb.

@CaseyExplosion "Phantasm". It's not nearly as funny, nothing is going to beat "Evil Dead" for comedy horror, but "Phantasm" is just so damned weird and creative. I love all five movies. The create of "Phantasm" also did another great Bruce Campbell horror movie, "Bubba Ho-Tep".

@alexriesart When I'm feeling burnt out and lazy, I sketch from photographs, or else experiment with color design and just paint on a single layer. Playing with lots of random experiments like this - and staying AWAY from my usual subject matter & process! - has kept me feeling creative.
