Satoshi Kon’s PAPRIKA. I remember when this film first came out and it completely melted my brain! So many overwhelming & clever ideas, so much provocative & bizarre imagery, and so many memorable moments. It’s an incredible achievement in cinema!

Given that it's it seems to be about the best possible time to be "Häxan" (1922).

It's been ages since I've watched this but after Sunset Boulevard the other night I'm compelled to revisit. Next to Blue Velvet, this is my favorite from Lynch. A twisty neo-noir that's a harrowing takedown of Hollywood.

This movie rules so hard! Tons of fun, terrific performances, and adventure that's off the charts. Shame it didn't do that well, but that's just more proof that some people don't like things. Lin knows action and this is more evidence of that.

José Ramón Larraz's EDGE OF THE AXE thx to 's rec on ... even though I watched director Larraz's DEADLY MANOR last week & thought its terribleness might actually murder me (til its insane last act anyway) - bless tho!

Top-notch on every level, this is rightfully regarded as the Best Star Trek. Might not be my favorite but it's so damn close. Still hasn't been matched in either the villain or dramatic heft categories either.

Finally watching missus was on sleep over at work; key worker; so couldn't watch last night. So far so good, loving all the callbacks to the earlier series. I'm in stitches at Rimmer with his extension cord 🤣

Hayao Miyazaki’s PRINCESS MONONOKE. This has been my favourite Studio Ghibli film for as long as I can remember. Despite the heavy themes & pretty confronting violence the film still resonated with me as a child. So profound, so grand, so stunning!
