(6) My HA Fanart! GOOD: All the foreground art pleases me. Lineart is defined but not detractive. Perspective and depth work. BAD: The background lacks a lot. I did want it to be blurry, but it's TOO much. The log and that front-most hand/arm are sad, too.

(2) On the contrary, this piece from July '22, that I entered into a competition. This one, I played with vector lineart and cel shading. GOOD: There's much more depth and perspective. His pose is rad. BAD: It's still flat, and the shading's a mess. Muzzle is wack, so's his hand.

At this point I go for the gut feeling but I think what helped me a lot to develop it is drawing from a lot of uncomfortable references
Perspective and distortion are always the best in learning to make interesting art because you really have to get creative to make it work jvhjg
