My thoughts with rumble and frenzy was to make them look like undercooked soundwaves by making them desaturated and having parts that point down point up

I spent 1hr last night messin with brush settings so I could mimic how I draw traditionally (teal, pink, purple, and light yellow colored pencils + white gel pen + black fine liner) and ngl I think I nailed it

Obvs more saturated, here’s an actual trad doodle for comparison

both tommy's and wilbur eyes have a desaturated pink-ish tone to it to signify that they've been crying! very subtle but im proud of it i think its nice :))
also Tommy has freckles!! was gonna give wilbur some as well but i forgor

Also, this card was rough to work on. I had actually pitched a much different final, but it was way too saturated and not very realistic. So, filled with shame and embarrassment I repainted it all. The outcome is definitely better, all thanks to !

I always try to keep everything desaturated in the flats bc I add like 30 bright colorful overylay/hardlight/gradient map layers on top

understand the image and the story behind it. For example, Dominik Mayer and Valentina Remenar both use super saturated colors, but in a controlled way that emphasizes the composition instead of overpowering it.
