#SkillNotTalent
2009 vs 2022
Looking at my old art makes me cringe SO hard, but it's a necessary process 🙏🏼
#skillnottalent
2006 vs 2010 vs 2022
I've stuck to it for the past 16 years and hope to do so for another long while
It's about wanting to improve with every drawing (= practice) and trying new things every now and then 😊
#SkillNotTalent
2016 vs 2022
I stopped drawing for few years cause I thought I couldn't draw better then it was in 2016
@sonatacreates Thanks for hosting this!
I have been very inconsistent from 2021 to 2022, but I'll post two that are very different 😅
But I've figured out what style I want to focus on now. I love my little goofy chibi style and I can't wait to keep on improving that style.

Same character 2018 -> 2022
Being an artist means having the overwhelming need to draw and just doing it. Somehow practice and improvement happens in spite of it all.

#SkillNotTalent 2021 vs. 2022
holy shit?? a year and a half of growth? between my first design of Amer and my recent portrait of him… the first one is so cringe but I’m so happy to look at the differences?? 🤯
#SkillNotTalent ✨ 2011 vs 2022
It takes passion and dedication, not magic 💖
Honestly, I hate being called talented. Art is a skill and it's a skill I've practiced and honed for over 20+ years. Passion drives me, not talent.
Anyone can draw, if you have the drive to learn and the patience to grow

#SkillNotTalent we've worked our asses off for years

2022 art is a commisioned work for @UmiJenova

2018 vs 2022!
I know it's a compliment when people say I'm "talented," but it really is so much about practice and intentional improvement, and finding what works for you!
Just saw the hashtag #SkillNotTalent and I love it, because yeah. Art is a skill that needs work to be developed.
Here's my first attempt at a digital sketch with some shading vs. one of my recent ones.
