Palaeoloxodon falconeri is a great example of the crazy size disparity that can occur within the same genus. I didn't know this extreme was possible for mammals https://t.co/x52Tj8s0aH #SciArtTweetstorm #proboscidea #paleontology #scientificillustration
The longest tusks ever belong to this behemoth, Zygolophodon. https://t.co/LxAvWnI9IX

Day 5 of #SciArt Tweet Storm. Working in Scientific Illustration means getting it right, preserving accuracy. My thoughts on the tyrannosaur/nanotyrannus discussion are entirely irrelevant when my job is to accurately record what is before me. It's an odd but real sense of peace.
Im join!!! This is my #SciArt #SciartTweetstorm #scientificillustration Three beetles🐞
I am passionate about Cambrian life because they are all
1) Huggable 2) Kissable 3) Lovable. It is a scientific fact. #sciart
Day 4 of the #SciArt Tweet Storm. Five years ago a paleontologist peered over my shoulder as I worked on this illustration and told me I would do well to consider a career move into Scientific Illustration. So much gratitude for that advice. #acrocanthosaurus #paleoart

@WildLentils Hi! I've worked on scientific illustrations for publishing before. I can send more relevant examples if you're interested. Contact me on fleursciortino@gmail.com and you can see my site on https://t.co/wATgNOotkD
I drew Misaka Mikoto from A Certain Magical Index/A Certain Scientific Railgun.
Finally working on getting a design down for my new fursona, Aurae the bobcat. I took her name from the Latin word for golden, coming from the scientific name for the golden prickly pear cactus (Opuntia Aurea).
A pussy cat with a sausage dog (I'm a stickler for the proper scientific names for animals!)
In 1936 Danish mathematician Inge Lehmann published "P"—which revolutionised scientific understanding of our planet by showing that the earth has a solid inner core and a liquid outer core. In 1971 she was awarded the William Bowie Medal for geophysics. https://t.co/FsQwv2LL2u

Scientifically created from many different genes, others saw her more of a freak or monster. The research facility destroyed, she roamed the lands in an attempt to escape her hunters.

One last piece before I get too tired: Scarlette! Chief scientific officer of Sparklight's chemistry division, now primarily a consultant for up-and-comers, this lovely lady is one of the most genial, personable people you'll ever meet.

For the coloration, I looked at a bunch of arboreal reptile species, large and small. It's harder than I thought to give it the loose, splotchy look of reptile coloration without losing the semblance of an actual pattern. #paleoart #sciart #scientificillustration #Trilophosaurus
