If you watched my Gradius III stream I mentioned briefly that there's an SA-1 mod out there that completely removes the slowdown and forces you to play the game at Maximum Speed™️ just as the good Lord intended. It's a lot of fun and I cleared it on Normal using save states lol

I liked the brief gimmick The Vulture had in the 90s Spider-Man cartoon and the comic series where he rejuvenated his body by sucking out the life force of young men.
