Read up Tomie by Junji Ito. It's got a bit of ick to it but overall I loved how it played out and how Junji kept the premise interesting for so long while basically repeating it with iteration on iteration per chapter.

Basically my favorite Junji story now. Love that guy.

Before becoming CoJ, he was fully connected to Blue Star, so the powers were pushed onto him.
