I've been quietly working on a dozen different character designs and learning live2d, and I think I've finally found a design that I love. Here's a closeup on the first draft for the head, some outfit sketches, and an expression that I WILL make work, even if it kills me.

As always, the closeups of his cute face, as I went into a lot of iterations of his design given the Pokémon he is based off is a little too simple. I ended up really liking his cute face despite having to add a snout were there was none...
