I was asked how to use masks and so here is a quick tutorial on how to use Vector Masks and Clipping Masks with your drawings. I am using photoshop but it should work with other programs (I think haha)

I use both methods in my art process!

15: Highlights! New layer [addition (Not clipping, on top of every layer)], add highlights. The sparkle in their eyes, shine on their noses, their hair, sides of their body, etc.

13: Quick clipping group > lineart/sketch. Color the entire layer black.
14: Coloring lineart! New layer [Over black layer, enable alpha lock]. Airbrush > eyedrop main colors of areas and softly airbrush in over them.

5: Flat colors [My order for coloring flats is skin > hair > eyes, mouth, etc. > clothes/accessories]
6: I use multiple layers within the clipping group to make it easier to stay organized! Always make sure Alpha lock is on, though.

3: New Layer > Group > Quick Clipping Group [Other people use select > Lasso, and you can too! This is just how I do it :D]
4: It looks like this! Make sure the clipped layer has Alpha lock on [The letter 'a' with a line through it]

I love this, also one of my favs. One reason this looks good is because I coloured the lineart + tones either by clipping a layer onto it. Yam's titan drawing is quite messy and a coloured Armour looks pretty dark if you leave lineart and tones black. Compare to my 129 example:
