#ShirleyHughes' illustrations immediately transport me back to my infant school classroom & my childhood library. I ❤️ Grandpa and Tom going for a walk in Lucy & Tom At Christmas🎄
#MyNaughtyLittleSister and Bad Harry when they ate all the trifle at his birthday party🎂
RIP Shirley Hughes. The very best illustrator of happy & mischievous little faces. https://t.co/h7zdKB7sKS
Shirley’s work always to me seems to hum with warmth and kindness. Her characterisation was flawless, her detail incredible and her skill at creating drama and magic (often from the everyday) was just excellent. Masterful. 3/4
So very sad to hear that #ShirleyHughes has died. Her work has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember.
As a child of the 80s I think I responded to the fact that in her work I saw me and the world around me. The clothes, the well loved toys, the lived in houses

Could anybody capture the magic of life from a child’s perspective like Shirley Hughes could?
Oh so sad to hear this. I loved Shirley Hughes when I was little & then all over again when I had a little one of my own. No one managed to capture the magic of everyday life from a child's eyes quite like her 💔 https://t.co/ILeGmNLAMC
RIP Shirley Hughes, note-perfect illustrator and writer of and for children. Her observational powers were astonishing. Look how much the pictures tell us about all three children and Mum, while the text just gives us the one perfectly placed 'anxiously'.
RIP Shirley Hughes. ‘I left school as soon as I could and went to Liverpool Art School when I was 16, to study history of costume. Later I decided to be an illustrator but I do think a book is a little theatre.’ https://t.co/5goTry0LDt
No one conveyed the small heartbreaks and riotous excitement of a toddler’s daily life like Shirley Hughes did - such tenderness, warmth, humour and understanding in every line. Desperately sorry to say goodbye to the creator of Dogger, Alfie, Lucy and Tom and so many more.
I was so sad to hear the news regarding the passing of Shirley Hughes, a beautiful artist and illustrator. I will always remember Mum reading us her stories before bed!

So sad to hear of the loss of the truly wonderful Shirley Hughes.
A wonderful writer and a true part of our childhoods. #RIPShirleyHughes
Dogger will alway be the perfect story of kindness and love.
God Rest You Shirley Hughes.
May choirs of Angel Mae's come to greet you ...
2/2 Whilst she is best known for Alfie, Dogger, Lucy & Tom and Out and About I’m taking a moment to enjoy these most favourite #ShirleyHughes. I adored Shirley and am so glad to champion her work.
Thank you and goodbye to the wonderful Shirley Hughes. Her stories and illustrations were so real to me. This illustration is from the brilliant Dogger, the best story ever about sibling love.
Happy Book Birthday! Big Dreams Small Fish! Join us in a #DTIYS

Background work of an assignment I worked on based of “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson
I based the style off of Winx Club😄
I went for a fisheye perspective with this one.
The WMT iteration has Eiko Yamada voicing Anne Shirley. She voices Mai in Dragonball, which is connected to Futari wa PreCure via VA Masako Nozawa and director Daisuke Nishio. https://t.co/vPfVlgrBqc
I will say this, Shirley may be my favorite Code Geass waifu but my goodness CC is more prettier and her fanarts are incredible. SHE LIKES PIZZA!
