I started by testing on myself. By adding a few accessories like my hair, beard, beret and jewelry, I found that the likeness worked. Successful test.

SO like.... I recently realized that I so badly wish I knew how values worked in art... so I'm TRYING..... Kinda really like how this looks so far so I figured I'd toss a WIP on here :o
