This @OpenAI test had a lot of traditional (sort of) Japanese iconography thrown into it & #Dalle2 spit these out. Interesting layout on a few of them. The fact that it came out as an illustration as opposed to more photographic results from previous prompts was a nice surprise.

Kuma's design is originally from a Japanese Video game from the late 90s. Once it was ported for Western Audiences, marketing changed the attitude and design dramatically to appeal to children of the time. This then evolved to what we have today.
