I really love stories with themes of being able to move forward from trauma/hardship.
One's where the characters learn to accept their flaws and carve out their own path in life regardless of the terrible things they experienced.
It's a really optimistic and beautiful theme.

In adventure half of the evolutions are just random results, because they had zero sense of direction at the time. Now digimon, like I said before, they can branch in their path, but the main evolution line have to be consistent.
