In-between steps! First did a quick colour rough in Procreate and then blocked out the scene in Blender. I was having trouble with the figure so I grabbed the Grease Pencil characters by to pose, then took back into Photoshop to paint the final image.

There was a desire to give her an iconic weapon like Gordon's crowbar, and so the socket wrench was aimed towards that. We never followed through on making it a thing for her in the game though, so it was born and died here in this image.

It's probably due to how he's drawn in that image. Most Sonic artwork has his brow much closer to his nose, not to mention they make sure not to have the pupils at the side of his head in those profile shots, so it looks more normal.
