Haha, so I'm not the only one to say that? ;) There's this vague feeling. Iconographic composition, standing frontal figure, exaggerated neck, athletic build, happy open face looking in the bright future. (minus cleavage and cleaver haha). Also background -> 70s space futurism.

I want to get better at composition, so I've been trying to make a better thumbnail habit for myself. Ties into my goals to utilize more black and create more standalone pieces as well.

"Uncle George", 1947, by Edwin Holgate. (Art Gallery of Hamilton). "He expressed modern ideals in terms of composition, simplicity, and absolute focus on the volume and geometry of form in an art of great vigour and restraint.” Rosalind Pepall. https://t.co/tohBn3f7rG

After sending over a sketch that I was happy with, the client asked that the character be flipped so that certain smaller trinkets/details would be positioned differently.

This affected the composition, so the pose was tweaked slightly to have less horizontal momentum.

Thumbnailing process going from basic shapes and composition, cleaning those up, and then copy/pasting the original and using different blending modes and transforming the layers to pull new shapes before adding some color and finalizing

First new image reveal of 2021 🥳 My painting 'Wyvern Priestess' for the Elven Path art book! Well, she was going to be a Dragon Priestess but the addition of arms on the dragon ruined the composition, so... 😬 Eh!

On today's episode of This Looked A Lot Better Before I Added Color... Just some concept exploration doodles I made that I wanted to formalize a bit. Its not a composition, but I would rather post these than something I half assed in an hour.

First of the year, my friends... I did it just to test forms of hair paint composition, but came out kind of good ^-^

A small collection I did for my Intro to Digital Painting course last semester! I wanted to study a lot of stuff with these pieces: lighting, color, composition, emulating a "concept art" style, and seeing how fast I could crank a piece out (hence why I did 3).

17. Halloween 2020 (+ Full size beacause I liked the composition, doesn't show too well in small icon size aha)

For the Romeo and Juliet and some events previous I used the event CG if there's any missing
