warm* + cool tones help inject more color into the skin. if you have difficulty finding a color that works with your palette u can try using a multiply layer instead.

*my red here is SUPER desaturated compared to what i usually use, due to the lighting in this particular piece.

To make interactable game objects and characters stand out even more from the background like these thorns I'm thinking of doing them in a kind of different style. Mainly they'll be lined and be more colorful. The background is lineless and desaturated.

had to dig a bit to find examples since i haven't done this in a while, but i always found shading deeper shadows with black/really desaturated colours to work *really* well in digital colouring of pencil art.

Hshsj in fact first I use very desaturated colors for the base and then I apply saturation+luminosity layer effects !!!

Overall, I'm happy with this version of Latrius. Color has always been something I've struggled with, but this feels satisfying in the color department. I think NOT shading with with super desaturated colors uh... helped.

I really loved But I'm a Cheerleader. It was so cute 💕 unfortunately I'm still trying to figure out my new computer. My old one's screen desaturated colors and made everything look really vibrant on my phone, and my new one does the reverse. Oh well, I'll get the hang of it!
