Context being there's a free animation rig they're using where some online downloads use an older version that has a known issue with some limbs appearing black and not lit up.
You can fix it by either checking a tickbox or manually flipping faces, they think its a "feature"

It’s all about the shapes! Practice drawing cats with base shapes! For the first cat i used triangles, and for the second circles! Shape language is so important! In faces, bodies, eyes, markings…It’s applicable to everything!
