@Exceleena on a serious note, the more 'creative' outlets were seen and carried on by doujinsoft scenes during the so-called 'dark ages', and then games like arcana heart and melty blood paved the way to bring this burgeoning variety out of japan-only pc slums and into actual arcades again
Also side note, as much as I’m not a horror movie buff, I actually really like the influx of fun multiplayer games based off of the really popular horror movies, it’s honestly pretty dope
