I think training your pokemon personaly in battle thickens the bonds with them more (which they actualy turned into a mechanic), otherwise it would litterally be line in Gen1 where you would feed them Candys to level them up to 100 and you have no attatchement to it whatsoever

Really recommend the game! direct sequel from Fusion! Game offers great upgraded mechanics from Samus Return´s 3D version, fluid gameplay and animations, nice atmosphere and great addition with the chasing sequence with EMMI which reminds you a bit with SA-X in Fuison.
