IMO, the stories I found were solid, the characters were well written, and I really like the creators and how they keep interest for the series between crowdfunding.
The art is fantastic, but even good art can't save badly written stories/characters. KA doesn't suffer that

-solid color usually adds less than an hour to my process
-Patterns and shapes adds almost an hour
-A generic landscape usually takes 1.5 hours
-And a background with perspective takes me from 1-2 hours
