Clearly they kept SOME elements of their beta designs but by comparison, even if you could say that X of the anatomy resembles certain parts of the gun, it no longer looks like a realistic gun only those in the know of what once was would pinpoint the similarities this accurately

Zatanna's purple hair, cause it reminded me of Twilight Sparkles, I was later able to ditch that petty comparison.

Corey's smile, looked too cocky, 'bout a few episodes in, it grew on me

Did a redesign of my triceratops. Placing the old one next to the new one for comparison and there's quite a difference after 8 years. Don't worry I kept the legless design but now it's sleeping all curled up. Ordered stickers and are on the way.
