@SamSykesSwears It’s not especially obscure, but this series was a wild space opera with religious undertones, strong female characters everywhere and it really changed the way I thought about storytelling, symbolism and the human experience. Frustrating gameplay, but had a bomb soundtrack 🤙
@SamSykesSwears Not sure if it's obscure.. but I don't hear about it from other ppl at all. Thousand Arms was among the first Jrpgs I finished and it was really really good. It had an amazing battle system with some really cool sprites and upgrades. It also had dating sim elements!
@SamSykesSwears Dunno if it’s obscure (never met anyone who knew of that game, though), but when i was a teen, i loved, LOVED Soul Nomad and the World Eaters! I went through the game three times - i couldn’t get enough of the combat system and the story and the characters. Great JRPG!

@SamSykesSwears It's probably not nearly as obscure as I think it is, but Golden Sun for the GBA is one of my favorite games of all time, and I don't think it got nearly the recognition that it deserved.
