I like that the Miss Makima and Miss Kobayashi connection comes from there similar design, but if you think about they both had control over a powerful chaotic force who loved them as well.

7/7/70: We didn't know it at the time, but HOUSE OF MYSTERY #188 was a pivotal issue in the history of comics. It featured the American debut of Tony DeZuniga, who would use his connections with other Filipino artists to help DC open the floodgates. And it's a beautiful piece.
I'd argue 90% of the OG Sakura Wars cast fits this idea. It's part of why I've long said a dub just can't work on the originals. You'd lose that connection.
