Thank you Kubo, for creating a series, that is absolutely precious to me. From fights, story characters, music, anime adaptation. Everything.

Sebastian Dent, the Atrocious Master, and also the protector of Astos, is one of the founders of the Masters of Midgard, alongside Lionel and Dekker, and deals with the political part of the Kingdom. But make no mistake, he fights like no one 😌

It takes guts to break up a gladiator fight in a full stadium.

The Vision in the Colosseum. The Last Martyr (1885) by José Benlliure y Gil shows Saint Telemachus holding up a cross in the Colosseum in Rome to stop the gladiator fights.

[ CW // Blood ]]

I love this moment because by this point expectations for these big fights have been established, so to then subvert that and show that Mark really does need to understand his own strength better is very good stuff.

"No screams. No fights.
No blood. No scars.
It is quiet
It is peaceful.
I see you smile.
Still beautiful.
You are safe here.
Always with me.
Forever Mine." -Jotaro

[ CW // Explicit Violence, Gore ]

It's not just the shock value of the gore, Its the stakes that are implied. Most superhero/anime fights have intensity but the characters are still expected to survive. When you can see how each hit is tearing the fighter apart, that changes.

[ CW // Explicit Violence, Gore ]

I mentioned it in the Omni-Man fight back in issue 11 but these fights are definitely what Invincible has become known for...and for good reason. To be fair Allen had a similar encounter recently but that was more of an ambush. This is a fight.
