Depends on the project and detail level I’m going for but I use a mix of all of them. If it’s a panel that calls for more detail- lasso and some painting. Less detail- cel or flat. Even within a panel using detail level to draw the eye.

This redesign by Owen Kellen works great for me. Love how his chest, necks and wings light up like stars. The legs are weirder-looking, less blatantly theropod. The wings are really alien too it’s a cool reimagining of the classic fan wings instead of the generic bat ones we got

I tried to stick to art I drew which had BGs cuz otherwise its unfair LEL

But it doesnt come out nice because I tend to use blur and colors less than values which is bad in a way HHK

Oh my god yes ah- best process is to sketch as loosely as you can, make a mess and get the movement you like before refining those details you want to keep with your lineart. The less precious you get with it the better your art will flow and your natural style will shine through
