One of the most amazing minerals is silica (SiO2). It forms beautiful 6 sided quartz crystals when it grows freely & slowly, it infills empty gas bubbles in ancient lava flows in a fine grained (cryptocrystalline) form. Beautiful this humble silica isn’t it? #MineralMonday
