One of my absolute favorite fairy tale illustrators, John Bauer, was born today in 1882. As a boy he spent most of his time drawing & daydreaming, which were not appreciated by his teachers. He longed to live in a cottage in a forest where he would walk about for inspiration.

It’s a cabin/cottage/hut - we call it hytte in Norway. It’s lovely both in summer and winter, lies at the foot of a mountain and next to a lake (where the eagle get the fish from). 🙌

I did some painting after 100 years of not doing art.
I used a 24 pack of Sharpies and an 8 color Crayola watercolor set. Is this one of those inspirational things like "you don't need expensive supplies to make art?"
