'Sutton Courtenay'~ Sir John Lavery, (1917)

Lavery was a good colourist - evidenced here by the cool blue tones of the shadows on the first punt, the repetition of these and the yellow of the dress in the bridge in the background and the green depths of the water below.

Tried to experiment more on colors to widen my knowledge of using warm colors as shadows.

An artist advised me to use this style of hat in order to improve my coloring. The truth is that I was very surprised by the difference between my usual shading and this new style
It gives it a great and more realistic volume, I thought I'll try to develop it
