Short fun useless fact about me and Muimina: in real life I'm a goth and I wear a trench coat shoulderless, that's why Muimina always wears her outer top shoulderless too. Same story with shoes.

I also always wear police/military accessories in public, I like looking serious.

As KBT & others said, MoP C-mode set had multiple colorations that were unused.

Legion Class Hall sets used one of those colors with “less epic” shoulders & modifications so those colors could still easily be used as an ‘easy mode’ reward (instead of letting them rot)
