One of my lesser-known influences (And perhaps lesser-known properties in general) is The Diary of Tortov Roddle an OVA anime of shorts I found as a younger person about a man traveling through a strange surreal land. These days you can only see it in 380p on youtube alas.

I do wish that DavidPro at least make Jotaro a little bit more emote rather than stoic most of the time. Manga and OVA did this too.
Also many scene directions in anime isn't very interesting compare to OVA and even manga.

To call this an episode of TV animation would be.. generous.

The sense of scale Wakabayashi paints, the strength of his action boarding, and the complexity of his layouts make it feel more akin to a high-end OVA than anything else.

it is just on an entirely different level.
