HC Toons bleed ink. Since they're basically cartoons that are drawn and created in Disney terms, ink flows through their bodies. And when injured, they bleed out ink that's a darker version of their skin color.

i'm basing at least three designs off of pages from the book, though it just occured to me that PMs scarecrow has tattered sleeves and rope around his ankle. Plus now i'm wondering whether going sepia/monochrome would be a better idea versus going for color.
