As far as Justice League comics go, the best one this past decade was digital Justice League Beyond. Though shortlived at only 25 chapters, written by Derek Fridolfs with Dustin Nguyen and others on art, it got over the characters, and had some fun stories(great team lineup too).

Palpatine spends decades in a stone chair, apparently in dreary misery. Why? Just to set a scary mood?

Lilinana represents death and necromancy. She savors the fruits of power. Smart! Powerful villains in sewers lead me to eye rolling.
