I actually find them quite unique.

They contrast all of the magic-wielding and use traditional skills (swordsman, computer savvy, cyborg enhancements, etc) which makes them stand out in a diverse way.

totally get that, in my case though i try to let he piece as a whole do that. colors are important and maybe its my eye issues but thats just how i am. take this piece for example, the entire painting tells the story, colors just accent the message
