One thing for about Pokemon's current final starter designs that kinda bother me is the fact that a lot of the more recent ones seem to be more like a character rather than a creature/animal living in another world. Good example of this is Cinderace.

One of the more fond memories of running a game for preschoolers was they didn't want to "slay" the dragon but rather teach it how to share.
