For me when I use multiply I create a grayscale on the top of the color layer then when I put in multiply the shadows on the grays ale will be seen on the original colors qwq

to give it a sense of unity you can add a final multiply layer to the whole thing and play with gradients / erase some parts to make more dramatic lightings (this is all very fast for the sake of the tutorial youd need to give it a bit more detail) hope it helps!

Then, I add the main light source! In this case, his face is mainly in shadow so I put a purple multiply layer over everything to tone the colors down. I then added the blood and more detailed shadows. Again, this is just the sketch so I'm not worried about it being perfect.

urutan mulai dari paling bawah:
- base
- multiply (prefer pilih warna yg warna ungu yg aga gelap), disini saya pake dua warna buat shadingnya
- multiply lagi buat bikin soft shading
- overlay (turunin opacity, use skin color)
- screen buat highlight

Its a painting process I'm learning, its this brush set called "Kraft Tones" by True Grit Texture Supply. Each layer is its own color, but layered together with multiply effect, makes the full range. I did add a paper texture on top to bring it all together.

Well maybe the at least the color is a bit easier if you try blending modes out! Here's an example. In the first one I have the shadow layer in normal blending mode. I've used light blue color. In second the layer is on Multiply, the third one is the drawing without shadow layer.
