The Mosekone ("swamp-wife") is a type of troll in Scandinavian folklore. Primarily a Danish legend, she is often dressed in green and/or has green skin. It was said that when she brewed her delicious beer it caused the swamps and marshes to be misty. #WyrdWednesday

This week #WyrdWednesday is about all things green, so I'm going to tweet about the kappa, a #yokai from #JapaneseFolklore. Kappas are small reptilian creatures about the size of a small child. They live in lakes and rivers waiting to attack unsuspecting passers-by.

#WyrdWednesday Scifi. I was a little girl when I first saw 2001, A Space Odyssey and there was a lot of it I didn't quite understand at the time. But the ending got me, and it still gets me every time.
Psychedelically surreal in its own right, the film Barbarella is a trip and a half. Visually stunning and a plot that confused me so much I had to watch it again with my wife to make sure I hadn't imagined some of what I saw.
