I always just felt we saw the characters kinda grow in regular show even when it was mostly episodic. Rigby getting his diploma, Mordechai learning from his relationship mess ups, even benson getting closer to people in the park. Even when they messed up it felt kinda realistic

By far the hardest part is figuring out depth. I find it is easier to start with the mouth open, and work backwards.

When the mouth opens, you'll see more of your tongue and your teeth will make more of a crescent. You can mess around with everything till it looks right.
