I wanted to do something different and colorful, so I started out with using red as the shadows and blue for the highlights. I added layers of blue and red from there. I used a drop of black at the end to get the dark shadows, and finished it off with yellow highlights.

Some steps of watercolour shader. Left: things rendered as BG. Right: FG. Fx apply differently to each before they get merged. 1st row is used for noise sampling while respecting 3D space so things don't get jittery in motion. 2nd is colour only. 3rd shadows/highlights.

Wow! Here is the painting after a glaze of Red Oxide. I like the warmth that it brings to the canvas. Still not finished. More blue glazes in the sky and then coming back with opaque highlights. NC

Day 744: Koja! Tonight's result was kinda fun! I really liked the highlights, and it's fun now that I'm slowly starting to understand how different lights affect different surfaces and colors to produce different highlights. Definitely makes me want to do more studies to learn!
