@iamnotweii My scuffed explanation is that light bounces off surfaces and hits the other objects/surfaces around it. So shadows are never one colour or tone because light bounces into? them. The colour of that object is often also somewhat transferred! So sorry if that doesn’t make sense😭🙏🏼
@Ratuno_Aoi Thank you! The painting process just takes a little time. I start by placing clusters of hair as faces. Then I draw in the flow with a hairbrush. I add a bright color on top with the same hairbrush. Finally, I add shadows using a multiply layer.

Today I finished putting the base colors on Ling. I painted shadows on his skin and eyes, but I didn't do much.
I was really sleepy today 🥲 So much so that I fell asleep before going to dinner-
