Love that the show took this random tentacle monster and turned it into a contingency plan of Cecil's, such a cool change. (Also fun detail that he still had his initial fight with the Kaiju on a beach).
So one of my favorite ways to start a campaign would be having the players kidnapped by cultists.
They need to work together to escape and reclaim their gear which helped start that initial binding.
