I've been working on this boy for the past 4 or so hours. Digital painting is long and tedious, it's why I don't do it very often.
However, I need the practice. Not perfect obvs, but comparing last year's work I can see some decent improvements.
actually going to take the opportunity to post all these again because i had borderline forgotten about them and i still like them a lot. obvs kinda inspired by earthbound enemies but the shading style was mostly informed by Cave Story, which I'd recently played at the time.

wasn't going to do this originally... but circle gave me "S" (THANK YOU CIRCLE) and obvs i had to.... then i realized the only other fav characters i have that begin with an "S" are... Spork... and... S-Stachenscarfen....
@Jake_LastName Obvs due to artystyle preferences I went with the sniper rifle from tf2, which is a heavily modified Remington 700 with a massive scope. The big scope just adds so much flavor to the design so its an instant favourite. R700 does its job. See a head, pull trigger, no longer see it
