Day 25, greenhouse. I always love the look of a conservatory with elaborate glasswork. They create such beautiful lines and contrast with the plants really well.

in this piece, i used the shadowed part of the mountain in the background to frame the character to make it the first thing that's seen in the illustration. the strong contrast made it the primary focal point.

The shadow here is probably gonna change color a bit, I'm not a huge fan of the shade of yellow, especially in contrast with Killua's pale skin.

When you move onto color I've also found that on a lot of Pokemon there is a very subtle texture. On this example I increased the contrast so you could see it but they tend to be very subtle in the final versions. 5/?

From chapter 703 final page. Finally i can do another Gintama, and this one is from my favorite panel. Doing panels with pure black and white contrast like Gintama still quite hard for me, especially with just fingers.

I remember a while back there was discourse on the TL about drawing pastels on characters with dark skin ... and honestly it made no sense to me??? Pastel colouring looks amazing with a little darker contrast??
