The shadow here is probably gonna change color a bit, I'm not a huge fan of the shade of yellow, especially in contrast with Killua's pale skin.

When you move onto color I've also found that on a lot of Pokemon there is a very subtle texture. On this example I increased the contrast so you could see it but they tend to be very subtle in the final versions. 5/?

From chapter 703 final page. Finally i can do another Gintama, and this one is from my favorite panel. Doing panels with pure black and white contrast like Gintama still quite hard for me, especially with just fingers.

I remember a while back there was discourse on the TL about drawing pastels on characters with dark skin ... and honestly it made no sense to me??? Pastel colouring looks amazing with a little darker contrast??

you have to had contrast, make it lighter dosent help much, i add one extra shade on the axe to make a smooth transition to the dark tone and it looks better for me

Some years ago I floated the concept of an "anti-mime," who ignores the existence of real objects.
If the traditional black and white uniform are the two most contrasting "colours" possible, the anti-mime uses two colours from the very middle of the spectrum: yellow and yellow.
