My point is, you will only make them shine if you pose it correctly
If you have both posed still with a generic pose they will feel the same, but if you use a dinamic pose they will shine, even in 2d

Basic ref for clothes + gem placement. Like I said in regards to the last design, the gems cover severely damaged areas that are still healing. They'll slowly disappear over time. They're almost fluid, allowing him to move freely, but they're still wounds that hurt a lot.
